Plasterboard Recycling
A total ban on the disposal of plasterboard waste at mixed waste landfills is NOW in force.
The responsibility for segregation of ALL plasterboard waste from other waste now lies with any waste producer, waste transfer facility, waste management contractor and HWRC’s as defined in the EC Position Statement MWRP 0007 (issued November 2008).
Countrystyle Group works in partnership with all types of producers and handlers of plasterboard waste, such as construction companies, waste management companies and local authorities throughout the UK to ensure that cost effect and environmentally acceptable solutions for plasterboard waste are found.
Countrystyle Group assists companies by segregating, collecting and recycling plasterboard waste, resulting in improved recycling rates, reduced landfill charges and avoidance of ever increasing landfill taxation.

- Dedicated plasterboard recycling and gypsum recovery operation at our state of the art Plasterboard Recycling Facility.
- Waste collections and logistics to suit all customer needs.
- Acceptance of plasterboard waste direct from the customer.
- A fully auditable cradle to grave process that delivers up to 97% recycling, returning materials back to industry.
- Specialist containers to segregate plasterboard waste including collection by high cube walking floor articulated vehicles, roll on/off bin vehicles and closed containers suitable for Civic Amenity sites.
All plasterboard waste deliveries will need to be free from the following:-
- Insulated or melamine surface board
- Plastic, glass, metal, wood, cardboard, brick, concrete, soils.
- Containers and material must be free from water and any liquid
Recycled plasterboard has a high re-use content with, depending on quality, up to 97% being available for end-uses, including new plasterboard manufacture and high quality gypsum powder to be reused in industry.
