Kent is home to some 563,000 households producing more than 800,000 tonnes of waste each year, equating to an average of 1.4 tonnes per household. Paper and Cardboard waste makes up one fifth of all typical household dustbins and consists mainly of newspapers, magazines, mail and cardboard, all of which are recyclable and should be diverted away from landfill.
