The Challenge

Starting with a basic recycling collection in 2008, FloPlast’s objectives were to greatly increase its landfill diversion rates.

Reaching a ten year milestone working together, FloPlast and Countrystyle Recycling continue to develop their environmental credentials to current and potential customers. Plastic Building and Plumbing Systems.

The Solution

FloPlast produced a significant volume of packaging waste. Incorporating a baling press on site, cardboard and plastic waste is collected, baled and stored until a sufficient volume of material can be retrieved by Countrystyle’s dedicated fleet.

With a segregation system in place, waste materials such as wood, metal and mixed recyclables are separated from general waste, increasing recycling rebates as a result. Countrystyle also collect the hazardous waste separated from general waste for onward treatment, including oily rags, filters from the on- site spray shop, paint cans and paint. As a result, this reduced the haulage bill and transportation environmental impact. Materials that were previously delivered in bags or boxes are also now being delivered in tankers.

“Countrystyle have been working with Floplast since 2008 and are the primary reason why we have been able to develop new waste streams and methodologies. Countrystyle have helped us to attain in 100% landfill diversion, they have also been an instrumental partner in ensuring that Floplast are up to speed with all current innovations and regulations. this relates to both waste management and continual support in reviewing their services to us whilst ensuring waste is dealt with in an efficient and cost effective manner.”
