Halstead Renewable Power Project

Halstead Renewable Power Project is an exciting new development planned for the Bluebridge Industrial Estate at Halstead, Essex. It will be a renewable power plant running on locally collected food waste and producing:

  • Renewable electricity sufficient to power 3000 homes
  • Enough heat for the future expansion of the estate
  • Soil conditioner suitable for improving local clay soils
  • A greenhouse gases reduction to more than offset the total output of all of Halstead’s cars

All these outputs will come from materials that would otherwise go to waste - either landfill or incineration. Our philosophy is that it should be possible to “go green” without compromising our quality of life.

This section describes how the project will work, where it will be located and the various benefits to the environment that it will deliver.
